Group Project Facebook

Our group decided to do some research about Facebook since none of us knew too much about it. We registered ourselves to make our own accounts to see what all it entailed. I was amazed by how many people that I knew had accounts and were using Facebook. It does seem like a good way to contact friends, especially ones that might not leave near you or ones you have not been in contact with for a long time. I can see that it is for the younger genteration, ones who are in front of their computers constantly and have a little more free time to communicate with others. Below we have attached a clip from 60 minutes with an interview with the young man you runs Facebook, only 23 years old and worth billions of dollars, must be nice.

Class activities and thoughts for EDTEC 448.
Creating a google account was good review because there were still new features that I had not used before that could be help at times. Having an extra gmail account is good also so I do not have to use my school email at all times and can recieve information from our union that does not go through the school. The search engine assigment that is attached above was good practice at using search engines that I would not usually use. I for the most part use Google all the time, but having other options such as Ask and MSN gives me other areas too look, that is if I take the time to change search engines. I was not sure if our district had an internet policy, but an adminstrator sent one that was in our rules and regulation booklet. I don't think that I had ever read it before and I did not know that there were different regulations for students and teacher within the district. The tags assignment was honestly not that interesting and was not something that I would ever do myself. The Wiki was the most benificial part of the class in my opinion. I feel that if I would take the time to set up a Wiki for my class that it would help my parents with communication and answer a lot of questions on their own.
